Our Librarians work across the county, delivering a wide range of activities to support literacy and encourage a love of reading, including rhyme times and story times, and a variety of other events throughout the year.

As a Librarian, you will engage with library visitors to identify their needs and deal with enquiries, work in local libraries to ensure our stock is relevant and well-presented, purchase stock and resources for a diverse range of needs and interests, use online services and social media to promote our offers, and develop projects to support various groups within the local community.

A successful Librarian is able to work with a diverse range of people, including children of all ages, and our own dedicated Librarian team. They use their communication and organisation skills to deliver great customer service and manage projects and resources that promote reading and access to information.

The role includes working 1 Saturday in 4, for which a day off in the week is given.
- Have good customer service and communication skills
- Have ICT skills and an interest in further development
- Work well with teams and partner organisations
- Are self-motivated and able to prioritise their workload
- Can manage acquisition and budgets for materials and projects
- Are keen to promote and develop library stock and services

Additional Information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
