Buying Assistant

An exciting opportunity for a proactive and commercially minded buying assistant to join our team. This is a fast-paced role with the opportunity to make an immediate and significant impact in a growing retail business, which is experiencing large volumes of growth and actively opening new stores.
Full time position Monday - Friday 9am to 5.30pm.

**R**esponsibilities**
- Providing buying support to keep the department running smoothly, report and analysis preparation for your Senior Buyer.
- Helping source products for the department under guidance from the Senior Buyer.
- Manage the selection of promotions to run for the department.
- Input and maintain cost and sell prices in the system, and all supplier information.
- Supporting category merchandising & supply chain colleagues.
- Working with PIM to ensure new products and suppliers are set up accurately and on time for stores and online.
- Maintaining the department’s systems and trackers, ensuring they are accurate and updated in a timely manner.
- Loading Commercial Income and ensuring our suppliers are invoiced correctly.
- Supporting with store and customer queries.
- Managing the weekly bulletin for stores.
**You will need**
- Experience in an assistant, support function for at least 1 year (ideally in FMCG or retail business)
- Attention to detail and data input accuracy
- To be self-driven, have integrity and diligence
- An animal lover, or pet owner, ideally dog or cat. If not you will need to be willing to engage with owners in the business/stores for advice
- A relationship builder
- Team player** - **(able to do ad-hoc projects or tasks outside of the general remit to achieve collective goals)
- Proactive - and a problem solver
- Adaptable - able to adapt to a small business arena and all-round role involvement
- Strong Excel, word and powerpoint skills.
- Enjoy a fast paced environment and friendly team.
