As a Credit Controller you will have a varied role in which you work to assist the company by driving cashflow into the business through maintenance of the customer database, control of the AR ledger and building/maintaining customer working relationships.
This role is site based at our headquarters in Luton working a core shift pattern which includes an earlier finish on Fridays.
What you will do:
- Complete and reconcile the daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Responsible for maintaining the daily cash forecast with latest expected receipt dates and propose actions when due dates move.
- Wholly responsible for the AR finance function including maintenance of the AR ledger, raising pro-forma/advance payment invoices & cash allocation.
- Review of all commercial sales invoices and submit to customers.
- Actively chase and follow up invoices to ensure prompt receipt and to allow accurate cash forecasting.
- Lead the weekly business debtors meeting.
- Reconciliation of key customer accounts on a monthly basis.
- Attend contract meetings to understand the terms and conditions within a contract. Follow up throughout the contract life to ensure invoices/bonds/letter of credits are compliant and executable.
- Raise bonds and administer as required.
- Produce monthly bond forecast and present to the FC/FD. Ensure compliant within the bank facility and highlight future requirement.
- Reconcile and monitor all balance sheet accounts directly related to treasury.
- Foreign exchange - produce a rolling forecast to monitor exposure and report on hedging cover. Make recommendations to minimise exposure and place forward cover in line with the company hedging policy.
General accounting duties:
- Active involvement and support the interim & year-end audit including but not limited to:
Prepare cash receipt analysis.
Deferred Revenue reconciliation.
Bad debt provision analysis.
- Provide support to cross Finance functions.
- Actively input into and support the budgeting and forecasting process in relation to net debt.
What you will need
- Relevant experience in a relevant role.
- Good time management.
- Motivated self-starter with a proactive attitude.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience within the manufacturing industry is desirable, as well as export knowledge including Incoterms, letter of credits and bonds/guarantees.
