Sighted Guide

First Class Support provides academic support to students in receipt of disabled student allowance (DSA).

**The purpose of this role is to support a student teacher, on a placement in a primary school setting in the Byfleet area.**

**The role will commence ASAP for approximately 5 weeks, more work may become available.**

**Your role as a Sighted Guide will be to provide practical and mobility support to assist the student maneuvering around.**

**This could include carrying books, IT equipment, and other apparatus the student needs for their day to day tasks.**

**You will need a transferable DBS.**

**Your Skills**: You will possess experience/understanding of providing support for disabled adults especially visually impaired people and demonstrate a willing to gain thorough knowledge of the campus. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to act independently to benefit the academic experience of the student(s).

We are ideally looking for someone who is educated to Bachelor level, who can demonstrate a bright and enthusiastic demeanour towards academia. No mandatory qualifications or professional body membership is required.

**You will be provided with flexible working patterns, and access to continuous training & development.**

**Please Note**: Due to the nature of the role, our support workers are required to be registered or become registered Self Employed.
