Production Superintendent required for recycling paper mill based in north Birmingham. Our client is a global paper recycling / packaging manufacturer with 48000 staff and 370 facilities worldwide. 36 hours per week - 8.30-4.30 Mon-Thurs - 8.30-4.15 Fri

The Production Superintendent will supervise and work alongside the Team Leaders to ensure the smooth day to day operations of the machine.
Maximise machine efficiencies, product quality and uptime with a constant focus on health and safety and quality.
Monitor, communicate and manage compliance of Company policy and standards throughout the Production Department.
- Production supervisory experience gained in paper or similar heavy process engineering environment

Key responsibilities under the following headings;
- Monitor, report, analyse and act on machine efficiencies.
- Support Production Team Leaders in their day-to-day duties
- Monitor, analyse, evaluate, and formally record process parameters to ensure that equipment runs at optimal levels achieving required Uptime, Speed Efficiency and Quality KPIs.
- Work with maintenance to improve the reliability of assets and ensure faults are diagnosed and reported accurately.
- Accurately manage the down-time system and report on a weekly/monthly basis using graphs and other visual aids.
- Communicate and supervise health and safety policy and ensure action plans are adhered to.
- Be a proactive member of the safety team and attend safety team meetings. To ensure safety concerns are reported, communicated, and actioned.
- Carry out risk assessments, workplace inspections/audits and write/revise SSWs.
- Be familiar with and advise from a production perspective the preventative maintenance programme.
- Create all necessary SOPs for production personnel tasks and keep them updated
- Provide cover for extended planned absences of Production Team Leaders.
- Drive Lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement
