Buyer Expeditor - Role and Responsibilities - Progress Chaser / SAP / MRP / Operations Coordinator / Supply Chain
- Correspond with suppliers as required to understand the current stage of production of ordered products
- Analyse supplier's workload and available resources to ensure schedules are met
- Ensure information received from suppliers is accurate and delivered in a timely manner
- Updating the system with information based upon supplier information received
- Reporting and escalating if the anticipated delivery schedule is in jeopardy
- Work within the supply chain team to produce shipment forecasts
- Assist with handling anything related to vendor service, such as poor product quality or delivery delays
- Find solutions to budget limitations, vendor errors, and other problems as they arise
- Work with various departments to determine the amount and type of goods required
- Control & co-ordination of information to the company's client base
- Handling of customer delivery enquiries for orders placed
- Monitors submittal of appropriate shipping documents
- Track orders from placement through delivery including assisting in control of shipment information to the companies client base
- Ensure that the appropriate goods are transferred to each department in a timely manner
Buyer Expeditor - Skills and Abilities - Progress Chaser / SAP / MRP / Operations Coordinator / Supply Chain
- Previous experience of expediting, ideally within an engineering/industrial field
- Experience in manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of MRP systems would be useful but not essential as training will be given
- Ability to work as both a member of a team and as a self-starter
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Confident communicator at all levels, with effective questioning technique and ability to influence others
- Good interpersonal skills for working with various departments as well as vendor representatives
- Excellent planning skills, organisational skills and attention to detail and problem-solving skills
