**Credit Control Officer**
**Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 DOE**
**37 hours (Part time optional for prorated salary)**
**Cardiff/Barry
- Hybrid Working/Onsite home visits as needed**
Our Client is looking for a Credit Control Officer between 2 offices in Cardiff and Barry, with hybrid working.
**Essential**
- Relevant experience and knowledge within an income recovery and/or benefit advice role Understanding of welfare benefits.
- Thorough understanding of the range of informal and legal tools available to recover debt and protect members’ interests.
- Ability to work independently on own.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- A good level of education, including strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Ability to carry out home visits safely and independently to our members as needed.
- Excellent IT.
- Clean driving licence and access to a car for visits.
**Responsibilities**
- To be responsible for the implementation of the policies, procedures, in compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
- To oversee the effective day to day running of credit control, including monitoring and service improvement.
- Business growth and development.
- To develop and maintain performance management systems and reports, team targets, in keeping with Business Plan objectives.
- Carry out home visits as and when needed to members, to provide information, advice and support.
- Negotiate repayment plans, to prepare court cases, manage formal debt remedy proposals and liaise with other agencies such as DWP for direct payments
- To undertake related administrative tasks.
- Carry out loan assessments and customer service tasks in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Provide training, support and supervision to the loans team and occasionally attend board meetings.
- Any other reasonable duties required by management.
