A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Technology & Innovation team as the Head of Digital Operations with overall responsibility for ensuring the day-to-day running of Digital services across the Trust raising our high levels of digital majority and interoperability even further on our journey of Digital Transformation.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Operational leader who will be responsible for managing, developing and maintaining customer relationships between all service partners and the Trust whilst providing direction and support, identifying dependencies, and ensuring a consistent approach to delivering the objectives across the organisation.

Responsibilities include
- To have an excellent technical knowledge of IT services, along with an understanding of the healthcare system, and to have awareness of wider partner challenges.
- Provide senior leadership and ownership of the day-to-day Digital operations ensuring Trust’s requirements are met. Drive Digital solutions across the organisation
- To lead on Capital Investment for Digital solutions across the Trust. Ensuring projects are delivered to schedule. To be the lead for Digital at Capital Investment group and ensuring that budgets are managed appropriately.
- Working with the Deputy Director to be the technical lead for IM&T, ensuring that the Trust has a secure, flexible, resilient infrastructure that has the capacity to enable the delivery of services, reliable IT services to the right people in the right places at the right times.
- To work with leadership team in Technology and Innovation to ensure technology strategies and emerging technologies are up to date and included in the Digital Strategy ensuring their value and validity to the Trust.
- Work closely with HBL ICT to co-ordinate services, delivered to agreed service levels by trained, skilled staff.
- Demonstrate excellent communications at all levels, both within and external to the NHS and be able to demonstrate good people management skills in order to manage and direct the support teams under his/her control.

- Have overall responsibility for ensuring the day-to-day running of Digital services across the Trust working with IT services providers / suppliers to ensure they are delivering the service required by the Trust
- To act as the primary contact for IT operational management issues for the Trust, NHS Digital and NHS England.
- To lead on Capital Investment for Digital solutions across the Trust. Ensuring projects are delivered to schedule. To be the lead for Digital at Capital Investment group and ensuring that budgets are managed appropriately. Budget for Capital IT is circa £1M per annum.
- To work with leadership team in Technology and Innovation to ensure technology strategies and emerging technologies are up to date and included in the Digital Strategy ensuring their value and validity to the Trust.
- To work with the leadership team within Technology and Innovation to establish a 5 year forward technology roadmap and to ensure delivery of those projects to budget and to schedule.
- To be a senior member of the Technology and Innovation team working closely with Directors, Associate Directors, General and Deputy Managers, Information Governance, Analysis and Reporting and the Transformation Team to ensure that operational service delivery and organisational strategic priorities, including quality and safety standards of service provision.
- To have an excellent technical knowledge of IT services, along with an understanding of the healthcare system, and to have awareness of wider partner challenges.
- Ensure all HCT staff are kept up to date on Digital developments
- Act as the innovator for technology within HCT to deliver improvements to clinical and back-office functions
- Working with the Deputy Director to be the technical lead for IM&T, ensuring that the Trust has a secure, flexible, resilient infrastructure that has the capacity to enable the delivery of services, reliable IT services to the right people in the right places at the right times.
