**Financial Controller - Arabic Speaking | International Engineering Consultancy | London / Hybrid**

**The Client**

Harmonic has been retained by one of the world's most successful engineering, construction and planning consultancies with offices in 200 countries and a completed project value of over $300bn. After a recent office relocation in Central London, they arelooking for an Arabic speaking Financial Controller to support with their continued expansion in the UK and throughout the Middle East.

Despite the size of the business, they adopt a very entrepreneurial approach to work with mínimal bureaucracy. The business has grown rapidly over the past decade and has supported some of the most iconic construction and engineering projects in the worldto date.

Culture is hugely important to the business, so they aren't just looking for someone with the skills to do the role but someone who has the right attitude, approach and ambition to be a success within the business. This role has exposure to senior stakeholdersand board level directors so you will need to be resilient with strong stakeholder management skills.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Group CFO and managing a team of 4, you will be responsible for the UK Accounting matters and work closely with the treasury department in assisting the trade finance function, banking guarantees issuance and amendments. You will also buildhands-on models and interact with senior stakeholders including the UK MD, Group CFO and Board members.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Business Partnering / interacting with the UK MD, Group CFO, Senior Partners and Board Members on numerous high-level projects
- Building financial models and PowerPoints for presentation internally and externally
- Prepare on a quarterly/semi-annually cost and revenue budget and whenever needed by the Regional Office
- Perform monthly closing, including bank reconciliation, posting all journal entries to the accounting system, and posting all unbilled revenue and accrued expenses
- Manage the audit process and liaise with external personnel
- Perform yearly closing by preparing year-end forms including cash certificates, bank and fixed deposit confirmations, list of project invoices, active bank guarantees, and accruals
- Liaise with the tax consultant and follow up on VAT return and tax law, ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
- Follow up on the interest payments for all the bank debt in the UK
- Checking/reconciling bank debt interest calculations, and all bank charges
- Coordinate/Send payments instructions to the account payable department
- Recording the interest expense and debt obligations using the in-house accounting system on a monthly accrual basis
- Recording loans principal movements mainly loan settlements

**What we need to see (essential)**:

- 8-12 years of experience
- Arabic language skills (written and verbal communication) essential
- Strong IFRS knowledge
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to deal with senior stakeholders
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, PowerPoint, Advanced Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communicator

**Salary**:£75,000 - £85,000 + 10% bonus + 10% pension
