The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.

We are looking for a Finance Trainee to join our busy and growing organisation. Reporting into the Finance Manager you will be joining a fast paced and busy Finance Team. This is a great opportunity for somebody looking to study for a relevant qualification such as AAT or whilst developing a long-term career within a growing manufacturing company.

Hours of work are Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00

Key responsibilities:

- Performing both purchase ledger and credit control duties
- Supporting each function within the finance team
- Resolving issues on difficult supplier accounts
- Monthly cash collection forecasting and monthly debt reporting
- Dealing with audit queries relating to banking audit and statutory accounts audits
- Providing departmental cover
- Keep procedure notes up to date so that all processes are fully documented and could be followed by another user
- Ad-hoc tasks and analysis requested by the Finance Manager and Financial Controller
- Developing to support with the month-end and year-end accounts

Essential skills:

- Confident communicator
- IT literate
- Ability to manage own workload
- Ability to use initiative and work under pressure to meet deadlines

Desirable skills:

- Prior experience within a finance team or role
- SAP knowledge is preferable, but not essential
