Ashton Recruitment requires a Cleaner/ Labourer for our client based in Belfast

Job Title: Cleaner/Labourer

Location: Belfast

Duration: Temporary

Rate of pay: £11.39 per hour

Hours: 37 per week

Duties include (but are not limited to)

1. To carry out general cleaning duties in all areas of the City Hall, Cecil Ward Building and other Belfast City Council locations as directed, including the use of all cleaning, buffing, polishing, vacuuming and other necessary machinery and equipment supplied.

2. To transport, erect and dismantle tables, chairs, mobile staging and a range of ancillary equipment in all the main function rooms within the City Hall and at all other locations as specified, in a timely and efficient manner.

3. To assist as required in liaising with event organisers to ensure that all layout, legal, health and safety, evacuation, entrance and egress requirements are fulfilled with regard to the setting up of functions in all of the council’s function rooms and other areas.

4. To provide a full pottering service to the council, including the collection and disposal of recyclable and other refuse and the collection and delivery of mail and other items between the main civic buildings of the council.

5. To attend as required at ceremonial and other functions and to assist as required with bar duties and hospitality and the setting-up and dismantling of equipment.

Essential Criteria:
a) carrying out deep cleaning duties which must include experience of using cleaning machinery and making sure that all machinery and chemicals are safely used in accordance with health and safety regulations;
b) setting up and breakdown of furniture and equipment for a range of functions; and

c) pottering duties across a range of sites

As part of the selection process, applicants may be tested on their knowledge of working in a cleaning and pottering role and specifically their use of heavy duty cleaning machinery and equipment.
