The Keysoe Cuddles Therapy Centre is a special place where the devoted Shetland Ponies will provide a form of horse therapy to children and vulnerable adults. The role holder will be an advocate of Keysoe International Keysoe Cuddle Therapy Centre and to promote the strategy and purpose of the charity at all times. The Keysoe Cuddles Therapy Pony Groom will provide daily care to the ponies and take them to required destinations to perform their roles. The role of groom suits a gentle nature for somebody who cares about animals and the benefit they bring to therapy.

About the role:

- General yard duties to include; feeding, mucking out, turning in/ out and all other tasks to maintain pony welfare
- Health and Safety awareness and compliance
- Transporting horses as required
- Rugging horses as per guidance given
- Supporting with exercising horses as required
- Cleaning apparatus and maintaining clean appearance
- Assist with clipping ponies and any other grooming
- Ensuring horse is medicated correctly and on schedule
- Cleaning and maintaining yard
- Field Maintenance as required
- Ad hoc activities as requested by management

About you:

- Passionate for horse wellbeing & healthcare
- Experienced in yard duties and horse grooming
- Team player - using the values to work together
- Approachable and creating a comfortable atmosphere for children and vulnerable adults
- Takes pride in presentation and excellence.

This role will require an enhanced DBS check on a frequent basis. Therefore the holder of the role must satisfy the evolving requirements of the DBS certification.
