Applications are invited from suitable individuals to join a well-established friendly team providing a Phlebotomy service across Ayrshire & Arran.

As a Phlebotomist you will be working predominantly at University Hospital Ayr but may be required to cover outpatient clinics in the community setting. Your main duty will be to collect blood samples by venepuncture for laboratory analysis from all relevant clinical areas. Previous experience in phlebotomy is desirable, however full training will be provided in all aspects of the job. It is essential that you demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to set patients at ease. You will be working as part of a team in a multidisciplinary setting, however once trained will be expected to work without direct supervision. A basic understanding of I.T. is required and previous experience of Trakcare and PMS would be an advantage.

Hours: 12 per week 7.30am - 11.30am Sat & Sun + 1 day midweek (TBC)

Flexibility regarding the exact days and times of work periods is expected and you may be required to cover hours/days that are not your regular shifts. The initial training for this post will take place Mon - Fri 07.30-11.30am, however weekend working will be expected of you when fully trained.

You may be required to work across other sites within NHS Ayrshire and Arran therefore having a drivers licence is essential.
