Permanent- County Durham- Posted 3 hours agoZenith People have an exciting opportunity for a multi skilled Fabricator/Welder to join their clients team on a permanent basis in County Durham. The purpose of this role is to take a product from the initial design to finished components ready to be assembled.
**The role responsibilities**:
- To carry out fabrication works within a workshop environment.
- Able to use own initiative to problem solve when required and also assist with on-site repairs if they arise.
- Working on a diverse range of projects.
- To attend client sites, measure and assess work needed, photograph work then take back to site to produce and install.
- Fabricating and welding bespoke work for various clients using steel and aluminium.
- Use of various hand tools and machines to assemble parts.
- Tig and MMA welds.
- Inspect and test welds with precision measuring instruments.
- Following engineering plans, drawings and instructions.
- Clean tools, equipment and work areas.
- Ensure safety clothing and use of protective equipment at all times.
**The person we are looking for**:
- Must be time served.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and read Engineers drawings.
- Must have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to help out when and where required.
- Experience with structural steel, Tig and MMA would be a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD would be highly advantageous.
- Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination, with the ability to manipulate and assemble large and extremely small components.
- Knowledge of engineering and technology.
- Willing to carry out site work from time to time to help with the needs of the business.
**Hours of work**: 8:00 - 16:30 Monday - Friday
**Holiday entitlement**: 20 days + statutory bank holidays
