The role

As a Buyer you will be responsible for daily procurement operations. Your role involves receiving purchase requests, issuing purchase orders via the ERP system, and ensuring adherence to cost authorisation levels and company processes. You will expedite timely deliveries, manage vendors, and occasionally negotiate terms. Duties include coordinating equipment hires, maintaining accurate records, and processing invoices efficiently. The Purchaser aims to secure competitive quotes, negotiate cost-effective deals, and foster positive relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, contributing to cost control and procurement efficiency metrics. you also prioritise compliance with quality, health, safety, sustainability, and environmental standards as proactive team members.

You'll collaborate closely with various internal teams at Fugro, including the UK SCM team, Projects, Commercial, Contracts, and QHSSE teams. Your role ensures that the right levels of support are provided, and all teams adhere to compliance requirements. You'll also engage with IT for the maintenance and upgrades of ERP and supply chain support systems, as well as with the Finance SSC and Fugro's Global Supply Chain teams to foster seamless coordination and alignment within the organization.
