**About the job**

We are looking for an experienced Head of Hospitality with a proven track record to provide senior leadership and strategic direction to our group of coffee shops.

We’re the world’s first prison-based coffee company, on a mission to reduce reoffending rates by creating employment opportunities for prison leavers. Our chain of 11 coffee shops is the commercial core of Redemption and the primary route to a first job for program participants leaving the criminal justice system.

As a head of department, you’ll report directly to one of the Founders and collaborate across the business with Finance, Impact, Marketing and Coffee. As a member of the leadership group, you’ll make key decisions for the channel and shape the future of the overall business.

This role would suit a senior professional who has ‘done it all before’ and seeking the challenge of bringing their knowledge of hospitality operations to a younger company environment.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Taking charge of Redemption’s group of coffee shops and everything associated with them
- Making Redemption’s shops a credit to the brand and specialty coffee community
- Incorporate Redemption’s impact mission into the departments activities
- Inspiring impeccable quality and standards
- Building and managing a high performing operations team
- Managing new openings and setting up the channel for growth

**What you’ll need to show**:

- At least 10 years experience of top-level operations management in multi-unit coffee-led hospitality organisations
- A proven track record of getting results whilst scaling
- Genuine enthusiasm for the Redemption social impact mission and a vision for its implementation in the department
- The right balance of focus on profit vs purpose
- A developed appreciation of specialty coffee and food
- Strong procurement and supply chain experience negotiating and selecting food and nonfood products
- The ability to forge successful relationships with team members at all levels
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Financially sophisticated with an analytical and numbers-driven approach and a real appreciation for the bottom line
- An eye for detail and rigorous on standards
- The right mix of firmness, approachability, candour and sensitivity

**About Redemption Roasters**

We provide professional coffee industry training, both inside and outside of prison with direct pathways to long-term employment.

As a social enterprise, we think differently to other specialty coffee companies; we strive for profit in order to achieve our purpose. Every member of the Redemption Roasters team has a role to play in achieving that purpose; to challenge perceptions and change lives through speciality coffee.

This is a really exciting time to be joining Redemption. In the next 6 months, we are opening new coffee shops and training academies.

The role is based at our offices in King’s Cross and is not a remote job.
