Quarry Supervisor

Job Summary

Role: Quarry Supervisor

**Salary**: Up to £40K

Hours: 7:30pm-3:30pm - Monday-Friday

Location: Devon

Are you working in a Quarry environment?

How about a role where you will have a real input supervising our Quarry operations? You will be leading the Quarry team and making proposals to the management to achieve continuous improvements and reduce costs, improving efficiency by challenging existing practices, and overseeing the extraction of Ball Clay across 3 quarries.

Your role:
As a Quarry Supervisor you will supervise and coordinate all aspects of the quarry activities across the South Devon Ball Clay Pits operating areas to ensure that market requirements, ESH, quality, consistency, volume and promptness of dispatch are met. Your role includes the following, not limited to;- Plan, organise and supervise the day to day activities.- Forward planning of the mining and operations, meeting the consistency and quantity of product within budgeted costs.- Supervise the pit contractors within the annual budgeted cost.- Collate information and produce KPIs and monthly management reports as requested.- Supervise CAPEX projects as required.- Actively manage, develop and promote best practice in Environment, Safety, Health and Welfare within the Mining & Mobile Plant function.- Continuously improve staff, workforce and contractor’s commitment toward Zero accident culture, in close relation with Function and Central HS officers.- Promote Safety Standards in line with the "Imerys Safety Policy".- Liaise and communicate with key stakeholders within the business, members of the community and regulatory bodies.- Follow the statutory appointment under the Quarries Regulations 1999 to ensure that all operations within their jurisdiction and control are carried out in accordance with statutory legislation and company rules to safeguard the health & safety of all employees and contractors.

What we ask you in return:
- Hold or working towards a Diploma in Quarry Technology (Desirable)- Member of The Institute Quarrying (Desirable)- Detailed knowledge & experience of UK Ball Clays (Desirable)- Proven knowledge of the Quarry Regulations- Supervisory Level experience- To hold Health, Safety & Environmental Management in the Extractive & Minerals Processing Industries (NVQ Level 3 or higher)- Have the ability to train, develop and motivate- Knowledge of MS Office and strong IT skills- Ability to think laterally & keep many issues moving forward simultaneously- Full UK Driving Licence
