Please refer to the full Job Description and Person Specification attached to this advert under "Supporting Information" which will provide further information on this role Duties and Responsibilities Communication and Working Relationship Skills Discuss queries with staff, suppliers and customers where there may be issues about non-payment, incorrect or late payments or other such issues. Communicate financial regulations and NHS rules in a simplified form to non-finance people. Analytical and Judgemental Skills Analyse and interpret financial payments and receipts. Investigate financial queries and analyse detailed data to identify errors and discrepancies.
Carry out detailed financial calculations about payments and decide whether and how to pursue over/ under payments. Analyse financial data to identify errors and sort out problems from a range of options. Input and manipulate financial databases and spreadsheets, where speed and accuracy are necessary. Scan data into database and monitor.
Planning and Organisational Skills Plan own workload to ensure weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial timetables are met. Be able to prioritise what processes should be carried out first in times of pressure e.g. know which creditor invoices should be paid before a payment run to ensure the Trusts payment performance target is met or to ensure that all debtor invoices are input before the month end closes to enable Management Accounts to measure income levels accurately.Responsibility for Patient/Client Care, Treatment and Therapy Limited or incidental contact with patients and clients. Advises patients/ clients e.g.
regarding charges. Responsibility for Policy and Service Development Implementation Propose changes to working practices and procedures and implements procedures set by others. Responsibility for Finance, Equipment and Other Resources Responsible for systems, processes and procedures for relevant finance functions in accordance with Trust policies. Responsibility for Human Resources, e.g.
Supervision, Training, HR Advice and Management To undertake training and participate in regular supervisions as required. Responsibility for Information Resources and Administrative Duties Input financial data into computerised and paper databases/ systems; creates financial spreadsheets. Undertake relevant finance function processes and procedures in line with internal control procedures. Responsibility for Research and Development The post holder is required to contribute to any proposed changes in the design of financial systems and processes to enhance the performance of the team and the Trust.
