We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Wealth Platform Design team.

Our complete wealth platform enables advisers to manage their practice with a smooth financial planning and onboarding process. This includes Goal setting and outcome planning, portfolio analytics with digital proposals, through to investment trade and execution. The Wealth platform also offers access to Morningstar’s best-in-class content, events, and thought leadership to help advisors best serve their clients.
**What You’ll Do**
As a Senior Product Designer for Morningstar’s Wealth Platform, you will be joining at an exciting time for the team where you’ll have the opportunity to drive large impact. You’ll work in close collaboration with Design, Product, and Engineering to influence and guide the design of a platform uniquely positioned to modernize how advisors work with clients to improve financial outcomes.
You will be responsible for ensuring we’re solving the right customer problems through design discovery to build empathy with our users, delivering design artefacts in Figma, building and testing design solutions backed by insights and data, and conducting usability testing. You will also pair with product stakeholders to execute product roadmaps to achieve this vision. You will often be the sole designer on a particular project and own its execution end-to-end; however, design management and more senior individual contributors will also support your development through critique, mentorship, and strategic guidance. Likewise, this role will also work with more junior designers as the team grows, providing mentorship, and guidance to deliver high-quality work.
Morningstar Wealth Platform’s Design team is growing, and this will be a pivotal individual contributor role in the Edinburgh location working in collaboration with Design Leadership and a growing team of local Design practitioners. This design role fits into the wider Morningstar Design organization, so you’ll have plenty of other fellow talented, passionate design professionals to collaborate with. Come join us
**Who You Are - Core Responsibilities**
As a Senior Product Designer, you are an expert in your craft and can demonstrate strong cross-functional collaboration. You collaborate well with peers in business, technology, and other roles to understand and implement business and design strategy. As a Senior Product Designer, you understand the business context in which you operate is a crucial driver in helping drive better design solutions across the team. This role is part of our individual contributor track.
**Primary focus**
- Work on and guide others in solving diverse scope user experience problems on a new product offering, requiring analysis of multiple factors such as timeline, customer need, business, and technical feasibility.
- Model meticulous attention to detail while consistently delivering high-quality solutions.
- Help others identify opportunities, clarify risks, and avoid conflict through design thinking, design methodology, and presentation of design artefacts.
**Leadership**
- Provide design direction and feedback to other designers and help the team discern how and when to consider stakeholder and customer feedback.
- Understand our strategy and can engage with partners to identify opportunities to achieve a plan within project parameters of scope, timeline, budget, etc.
- Work autonomously with direction from your manager. You’ll typically receive little instruction on your daily work but receive support within the context of the wider design team and from design leadership.
- Demonstrate to other designers, business leads, and stakeholders the values and methods of design thinking to solve user needs and realize business goals.
