**Role Overview**:
As a Special Education Teaching Assistant (SEND), you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of children with autism. Working closely with experienced educators and specialists, you will provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to access the curriculum, develop essential skills, and reach their full potential. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with autism while gaining valuable experience in a supportive school setting.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide individualized support to students with autism, including assistance with academic tasks, social skills development, and behavior management.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to implement personalized learning plans and accommodations for students with diverse needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued, respected, and supported.
- Assist with the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to meet the specific needs of students with autism.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians on a regular basis.
- Promote independence and self-confidence in students by encouraging participation in classroom activities and fostering a growth mindset.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience working with children with autism or special educational needs is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to supporting their holistic development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in working with students who may have complex needs or challenging behaviors.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special education are advantageous but not essential.
