Volunteer Social Car Driver

DART Partnership are currently recruiting volunteer social car drivers to help transport individuals within our community to essential appointments.

You will be helping people within the ABC area who have no other access to transport, get out and about and access essential services.

You will use your own car to collect our members, we will provide you with training, and re-imburse out of pocket expenses. We provide ongoing support, and further training opportunities.

Volunteer Social Car Driver

**Duties**:

- To collect passengers and drive them to/from their destination
- Helping passengers to your vehicle and assisting with shopping, walking aids and wheelchairs, ensuring these items are safely stowed in your car
- Wait, if required, for passengers especially when attending medical/health appointments
- To maintain a current and valid driving licence of the appropriate category
- Keep accurate records of all journeys undertaken
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Ensure that your vehicle is correctly taxed, roadworthy and has a valid MOT at all times

**Requirements**:

- Must be reliable and punctual
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Good communication skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Act in a helpful, caring, confidential manner

Please note that this is an unpaid volunteer position. The primary goal of this role is to contribute to the organisation's mission and make a positive impact in the community.

**Salary**: £0.45 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

**Experience**:

- Driving: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
