**Yard Operative - Scrap Metal Recycling Demonstration Facility**

**Nottingham / Derby**

JMC Recycling Systems is the UK's largest manufacturer of metal recycling equipment, dating back to 1872. We are looking for a Yard Operative to join our team in the scrap machinery demonstration yard.

**Description of the role**:
The successful applicant will play a part in ensuring the smooth running of our waste metal machinery demonstration and processing yard, reporting to the Yard Manager.

**Day to day tasks would include**:

- Sorting scrap metal into different areas of the yard.
- Helping customers by grading their scrap, and weighing it using the weighbridge.
- Loading and unloading lorries for scrap deliveries.
- Processing scrap using machinery such as shears and our cable granulator.

There is opportunity for progression into supervisor roles based on performance.

**Hours and Pay**:
Working hours are Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm, and you will be required to work two Saturday mornings per month. You will be able to take a morning/afternoon off elsewhere in the week to make up for this, or work it as overtime.

The starting pay is £10.50-£11.50 per hour depending on experience.

Overtime is available between 7:00am-8:00am, and on Saturday Mornings, paid at 1.5x wage.

**The successful applicants will have**:

- Experience working in Scrapyards or similar.
- Knowledgeable in Non-Ferrous metals.
- Numeracy and literacy ability.
- Experience in the metal recycling industry is a bonus.
- Experience in weighbridge operation is a bonus.
- Forklift license is a bonus.
- Slinging Qualifications are a bonus.
- Wamitab Qualification or equivalent is a bonus.
