**About the Role**

To ensure the compliance of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and Traffic Management Act (TMA) across Network operations. With a core understanding in NRSWA and TMA, the role holder will be expected to support the Network and Team in reducing exposure to any financial liabilities as result of NRSWA and TMA non-compliance.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Monitoring systems for noticing and permitry compliance
- Working with Network Operational Teams to ensure that notices and permits are submitted in timely manner with the correct information
- Supporting permit schemes and new legislation consultations
- Supporting the strategy development and ongoing engagement with Highways Authorities (HAs) in conjunction with the Construction Management Organisation
- Responsible for Sign, Lighting and Guarding defect management, ensuring defects are resolved in a timely and appropriate manner
- Undertaking necessary inspections to ensure compliance of legislation
- Investigating Section 74’s, managing findings and implementing any required improvements
- Creating and providing network specific MI to enable performance improvements
- Supporting the Network by attending Highways Authority and Utilities Committee (HAUC) / National Joint
- Utilities Group (NJUG) / Highways Authority (HA) interface meetings, as required

**About You**

You will possess the following skills, knowledge and qualifications:

- Knowledge of appropriate legislation, policy and procedures; including NRSWA and TMA
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing at senior levels, and gaining support /
- commitment from a wide operational group
- Experience in an operational or contractor environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse data and MI, to drive continuous improvement
- Able to articulate and present materials to a small audience at different levels
- NRSWA Supervisor Certification
- Valid UK Driving License holder
