Start People are recruiting for our client in the Consett area for a trainee fabricator / welder.

Working Monday to Thursday 7am to 4pm and a Friday 7am to 12 noon.

**Duties**:

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of the project
- Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, grinders, and drill presses to cut, bend, form, punch, drill, or otherwise shape and assemble metal components
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
- Operate rigging equipment and follow all safety protocols when moving heavy materials
- Use hand tools such as hammers, chisels, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers to fit and assemble parts
- Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and ensure quality standards are met

Weekly pay on a temporary to permanent contract, Free on site parking.

**Salary**: From £11.66 per hour
