To undertake work with children attending Daisies Nursery School Limited, within this role it is expected that you will:
- Follow the agreed Montessori curriculum as detailed by Anna Elcox.
- Have secure knowledge and understanding of the EYFS (2021) and adhere to it at all times.
- Have secure knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures with particular regard to safeguarding.
- To be a Key Teacher and work collaboratively with your Assistant to ensure consistency for each of your Key Children.
- Undertake detailed written observations of Key Children on My Montessori Child.
- Review each Key Child’s EYFS and Montessori profile at least weekly which will be discussed with the Assistant in weekly learning and development meetings.
- Develop next steps for each Key Child.
- Have excellent knowledge of the way each Key Child learns through their play and their interests to ensure they are motivated to achieve and each challenge meets their needs.
- Encourage children to develop their skills through play, learning, interaction with others and positive role modelling.
- Effectively connect with and communicate to families at drop-off and pick-up and during formal parent meetings with your Assistant.
- Know how to identify and support children in a range of circumstances, including those who are vulnerable, looked after, with visible and invisible special educational needs and disabilities.
- Are not judgemental and has the skills to communicate with other agencies and settings involved with the child and their family
- Be empathic and understand the different ways of creating a family.
- Appreciate and respect the cultures, identities and diverse backgrounds of the children and families with whom you work.
- Have wider knowledge and understanding of child development, attachment theory, self-regulation, neuroscience, and pedagogy of effective practice.
- Assist in preparing the classroom for sessions and cleaning the classroom at the end of the day if required.
- Have a passion for the role which brings much joy as well as challenge.
- Be a designated person for child protection.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 32.5 per week
**Salary**: £9.50-£11.00 per hour
