**Contract Type: Maternity Leave cover from 17th April 2023 to 12th January 2024**

**Salary Scale: £37,725 - £40,614**

The postholder will benefit from professional development opportunities within the role and will gain valuable experience of working within the Virtual School.

Your role will be to enable looked after young people to achieve the very best educational outcomes and high aspirations. This includes supporting the wider network with meeting their statutory responsibilities to ensure that education is prioritised in all care planning. The caseload will be post 16 young people so experience with working young people in this area would be an advantage.

Duties will be varied and will include liaising with schools, colleges and other educational settings, working with social workers and carers and coordinating bespoke support for those children with the most complex needs. It will involve taking a lead role in ensuring Personal Educational Plans are completed with clear outcomes and actions. The role will also include supporting enrichment opportunities that take place after school and occasionally during school holidays and weekends.

N.B. this is not a term time-only post and is not a remote working role. As well as home working, there will be office-based work and visits to schools/colleges.

Due to the nature of the work, the successful applicant will be required to work flexibly. A current driving licence and the use of own vehicle would be helpful but not essential. An enhanced DBS is essential.
