Semi-skilled Grinder

**Role**

To grind, drift and finish manufactured conductor joints. Provide assistance to fitters and welders during cutting and assembling as per Company specifications and within times as set out on route cards.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Care and maintenance of machinery - ensure equipment and work area is continually cleaned down and maintained. Equipment is switched to the off position and hand machines are returned to stores or shadow boards after use.
- Complete minor assembly tasks during finishing operations. Identify and report faults with machinery or equipment to Supervisor.
- Maintain and ensure traceability and control of consumables.
- Ensure manufacturing time and efficiencies are controlled, through the use of Mercury.
- Highlight and report any discrepancies in route card timings.
- To report to Supervisor any methods or procedures to improve quality and efficiency.
- To work to the Company’s latest edition of Standing Orders.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- A minimum of 2 years general fabrication work is preferred.
- Current Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck licence will be beneficial.
