Simulation Coordinator

The post holder will coordinate simulation-based learning activities across the wider trust which encompasses all professions across the MDT including foundation year medical staff and nursing and AHP students.
This post includes contributing to and supporting the delivery of the Simulation Delivery Plan and subsequent programmes by; providing input into projects; the provision of administrative services, including agendas, minutes, project packs, and managing actions; communication and awareness raising and monitoring and control programmes. The role also involves engagement and networking with staff within the trust and key stakeholders outside the trust.
1. To assist the Simulation Lead Nurse with all aspects of simulation delivery across the trust
2. To provide all aspects of administrative support to the wider simulation team and key stakeholders, including organising meetings, taking minutes, managing actions, risks, and issues. This will include being responsible for ensuring the correct documentation moves through the appropriate governance structure in a timely fashion, prompting and providing support to individuals and teams as required
3. To design and deliver surveys and audits on a variety of areas surrounding simulation across the trust, compiling results and presenting them to relevant groups/committees
4. To prepare simulation areas for use, requiring gaining relevant knowledge of manikins and clinical equipment used in simulation. This could take place in our Manor Learning and Conference Centre, or in clinical areas as part of in-situ simulations.
5. To support the work, such as assisting in the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and staff guides to keep up-to-date with the evolving agendas.
6. To assist the Simulation Nurse Lead in the completion of documentation
7. To act as a requisitioner, ensuring orders are placed on the Trusts E-Series system, tracking requisitions and orders when requested and receipting goods on delivery.
8. To oversee the administration associated the operation of the simulation budget
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 286,700, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and the continued upgrading of existing areas ensures the Trust now has a state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit facilities. Work has recently been completed on its multi-million pound new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre which houses a new Emergency Department (including Children's Emergency Department), co-located Paediatric Assessment Unit, Acute Medical Unit and Urgent Care Centre.
