**Responsibilities**:
**General Maintenance**:Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of school buildings, equipment, and facilities.
Perform repairs on plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC as needed.
Ensure the safety and functionality of doors, windows, and other building components.

**Carpentry**:Undertake carpentry tasks, including repairs to desks, chairs, shelves, and other furniture.
Assist in the installation and maintenance of classroom equipment and fixtures.

**Groundskeeping**:Maintain the outdoor areas of the school, including gardening, landscaping, and snow removal when necessary.
Conduct regular checks on playground equipment to ensure safety standards are met.

**Painting and Decorating**:Carry out painting and decorating tasks to enhance the aesthetic appeal of school premises.
Coordinate with staff to plan and execute painting projects during school breaks.

**Emergency Repairs**:Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and provide solutions to minimize disruption to school activities.
Collaborate with other maintenance staff to address urgent issues.

**Inventory Management**:Keep track of tools, equipment, and materials, and ensure their proper storage and maintenance.
Assist in the procurement of supplies needed for maintenance tasks.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
- Proficiency in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and other relevant skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff members.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications or vocational training in maintenance and repair.

**Working Conditions**:

- Full-time position with a temporary-to-permanent contract.
