**Backend Developer (Node.js / Ruby on Rails)**

**99% Remote, MUST be UK based**

**Summary**

Seeking a backend focused Engineer, with strong Node.js JavaScript and/or Ruby on Rails coding and development expertise - to work in an exciting tech start-up business. You will be aligned with an Agile team, working with Product Owners, Software Developersand QA to realise the product roadmap as well as provide product support through bug fixes. This is a truly unique opportunity to join at the beginning of the expansion phase.

**As a Developer your responsibilities will include**:

- Writing and maintaining high quality code (Node.js / Ruby on Rails)
- Contributing to team's product roadmap
- Following and enforcing software best practise and processes
- Delivering innovative solutions across the full development life cycle
- Continually enhancing and building a deep knowledge of the product suite
- Selecting, using and improving a broad modern technology stack.
- Participating in cross training and continual learning

**To be successful in the post, your experience will include**:
A professional development / software engineering background, where you have demonstrated the ability to take ownership of a sprint task from development and testing through to deployment

Throughout your career you will be able to demonstrate successful projects using:

- JavaScript, node.JS and/or Ruby on Rails
- API development
- Solid Design Principles
- Exposure to or desire to move into Cloud / AWS
- Exposure to or desire to learn DevOps, Kubernetes, Docker etc
- Experience working within an agile development environment
