**Transport Operator**

Role: Operations assistant

We are looking to recruit a Transport Operator to work within our busy distribution department. Working within a team providing good and accurate communication to customers and drivers. Strong transport knowledge regarding legal compliance, drivers hours, vehicle dimensions, weights and capacity preferred.

**Main purpose of job**

To meet UK Domestic customers' requirements for the safe and efficient transport of their cargo effectively and in accordance with company operational procedures and statutory requirements including Health & Safety to the satisfaction of clients and the profit of the company.

**Tasks may include**:

- Prepare correct documentation to the Warehouse department for loading/offloading cargo to vehicles, in a timely manner.
- Perform and correctly implement General Administration, e.g. invoicing; filing; queries; claims; check costs in accordance with departmental requirements.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with internal and external customers, Drivers, suppliers, and other offices.
- Utilise vehicle fleet in the most effective way
- Any reports/KPI's required

**Essential Skills/Requirements**:

- Excellent Communicator
- Good Customer Service
- Proficiant in PC and Transport Operating Systems
- Knowledge of Drivers Hours & Transport Regulations
- Ability to multi-task under pressure
- Problem solving
- Work effectively as part of a team

**Set hours of 09:00 - 17:00.**
