Applications are invited for the above permanent full-time post, we are recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Catering Supervisor to join our expanding team working in the Catering Section of The Management Centre. This is a full-time post on a shift basis including evenings and weekends.

**Purpose of the Job.**
The main purpose of the role is to support the Management team with the day to day service delivery across the catering department at The Management Centre, leading and motivating the team to provide excellent customer service at all times.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- On a daily basis, lead a shift within the Catering department to ensure that all required tasks are completed.
- Produce and maintain Catering Department rosters, working closely with the Head Chef.
- Ensure that all prescribed business processes and procedures are complied with and carried out.
- Ensure that any identified on the job training is identified and implemented.
- Lead by example and ensure that the shift is motivated to deliver customer focused and sales driven service.
- Supervise financial procedures within the Catering Department and ensure daily till receipts are submitted to the finance administrator.
- Assist in effectively monitoring and maintaining stock of food and liquor.
- Ensure that all relevant deliveries are checked and signed for and that stocks are rotated accordingly.
- Carry out monthly stock checks of Costa coffee and bar supplies, and submit reports to Financial Controller.
- Proactively seek new and innovative opportunities to improve the customer experience.
- Ensure that the highest standards of service are achieved. Promote a truly customer focused working environment.
- Be willing to assist with food production should the need arise.
- Assist the General Manager in ensuring that the standard business procedures and processes are adhered to at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for customers by adhering to licensing laws.
- Ensure that local and statutory procedures are implemented and adhered to.
- Adhere to all legal requirements in relation to the sale of alcohol at The Management Centre.
- Communicate all necessary information to all staff.
- Ensure all customer service areas are clean and fit for purpose, in line with current legislation and that staff are aware of their roles and responsibilities
- Report any major issues to the Head Chef and General Manager.
- Assist the Venue Officer in ensuring all conference business within The Management Centre is covered at all times.
- Assist the Finance Administrator in passing information to the Events Coordinator so that invoices can be raised post conference.
- Ensure excellent and effective communication within the team and with Conference organisers, delegates and the Events Coordinator.
The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably expected within the scope and grade of the post. You may be required to undertake other responsbiliites and training as requested by your line manager appropriate to your grade.
**Other Duties and Responsibilities**
- The post holder will be expected to participate in performance review and developmental activities.

The post holder is also required to comply with all applicable health and safety policies, procedures and risk assessments.
- The post holder must comply with relevant legal and financial policies and procedures and be aware of their responsibilities in terms of the legal requirements of their posts.

**Person Specification**
- Appropriate personal qualities such as communication, organisation and customer service as well as practical experience and business acumen are essential.
- The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this position.
**Experience / Knowledge**
- Experience of working at Supervisory level within a catering and hospitality environment.
- Experience of dealing with senior members of staff on matters of sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Ideally with a minimum of a level 2 in food hygiene and safety qualificiation.
**Key Skills**
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle and appropriately respond to complaints.
