**Horticultural Nursery Worker**

Tozer Seeds Ltd is an established vegetable plant breeding company based in the heart of Surrey. We develop new and improved vegetable varieties and supply seed to our global customer base of professional growers.

**Background**

**The Role**

The role includes a wide range of activities supporting the production of vegetable seed crops and trials including but not limited to:
Planting and sowing.

Pollinating

Irrigation

Weeding

Harvesting and cleaning seed.

Cultivation and bed preparation using a range of handheld and powered machinery including compact and full-size tractors. (Training provided)

General crop husbandry.

Assisting with basic repair and maintenance to poly tunnels/glass houses and general site/grounds maintenance.

Due to the seasonal nature of the business, this role requires flexibility to work in other parts of the business during quite periods. This may include helping our warehouse team packing and dispatching orders or the final stage of seed cleaning.

An interest in Horticulture or previous work experience is desirable.

Shows passion for accuracy, efficiency, and high output.

Self-motivated, works well as part of a team and alone.

Can carry out physical work in all weathers.

Has a high regard for health and safety.

Must have full clean driving license.

Must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship or Visa.

Must have a good level of spoken English.

Must be willing to work overtime during busy periods and carry out weekend watering duties on rotation.

Practical handy/DIY skills would be an advantage.

Basic IT skills, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

PA1 & PA6 sprayer operator licenses desirable and must be willing to learn (certified training provided)

Experience with operating agricultural/grounds machinery is desirable and must be willing to learn.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour
