Barista/café Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Barista/ Cafe Assistants to join our team Monday
- Friday full and part time. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe. Your main responsibilities will be customer focused taking orders, making hot and cold drinks (quality Barista training provided), using a till, cleaning & dishes, some food preparation, maintaining food safety standards, assisting customers, and managing your time effectively.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and serve beverages to customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness of work areas
- Assist customers with menu selection and provide recommendations
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register accurately
- Maintain inventory levels and restock items as needed
- Clean tables, chairs, and other cafe areas as well as washing dishes to ensure a clean and inviting environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent customer service
- Follow company policies and procedures at all times

**Skills**:

- Ability to learn and follow direction accurately
- Food safety: Knowledge of or willingness to learn proper food handling procedures to maintain hygiene standards
- Basic math skills: Ability to perform simple calculations for cash handling purposes
- Helpfulness: Willingness to assist customers with their needs and provide excellent service
- Time management: Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, resilient and capable of working in a fast paced busy environment.

**Salary**: From £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 35 per week
