This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who has Decontamination/Sterile Services experience to join our team.

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who is dedicated to working as part of the team. and to able to work across all sites when required.

This role will work for Kingston Hospital in collaboration with STERIS Sterile Services Department which supplies the Trust with sterile packs and instruments.

You will ensure the safe decontamination of re-usable medical devices, to assist with the management and education of all staff within the trust and will work in close collaboration with other professionals e.g. Clinical Directors, Consultants, Clinical Nurse specialists and ward / department representatives to select best choice products required by clinical staff and their patients.

The post holder will lead on the operational and strategic management of sterile services with the trusts external sterilisation service. This role will have leadership on the delivery of sterilisation across the trust site in conjunction with the Deputy General Manager for theatres.

The sterilisation lead provides expert advice and assistance to a wide range of staff, consultants, senior managers and Trust directors on sterilisation issues and policy. In addition, the post holder must ensure that all aspects of sterilisation management comply with, or are being developed towards, present national laws, regulations, guidance, and all recognised standards.

The post holder will provide professional, technical, and overall management of sterilisation processes and activities.

In order to provide insight and context to the levels and needs of sterilisation in the various clinical settings the post holder must either hold a current nursing registration or have alternative relevant experience which enables them to have insight and knowledge into the principles of infection prevention & control and decontamination of re-usable medical equipment.
