**Job description**

To provide a comprehensive, customer-focused co-ordinator role that focuses on the attraction, recruitment and retention of social care roles within Adult’s Social Care both on a permanent and agency basis.

Co-ordinate hiring managers within Adult’s Social Care in all aspects of the recruitment process.

Ensure full compliance with the safer recruitment processes and procedures.

Support the Adult’s Social Care with innovative and creative ways to attract and retain the best talent available within the industry to work for Merton in accordance with agreed policy, procedures, best practice and accepted standards.

research the most appropriate and innovative ways in which the social care service can source attract and engage the necessary ’talent’ to fill social care vacancies at whatever grade;
co-ordinate the review of the dedicated social care pages of the Merton website to make them as attractive as possible, making the most of video capabilities;
Using the dedicated social care pages of the website as a solid landing place, ensure regular posting to various social media platforms to enhance Merton’s profile as an employer of choice for social care workers;
Work with the account manager of the National Guardian to enhance the advertising package the service has currently purchased and review the Council’s profile page on the Guardian website;
manage any suitable recruitment interventions to support the search such as job fairs; recruitment events; demonstrations and the like;
assist in the preparation of management information reflecting recruitment/hiring metrics where required;
research good practice that takes place in other boroughs to support the recruitment and retention of social workers;
at all times, maintain the necessary confidentiality when carrying out the duties of the post, having an awareness of the sensitive nature of this area of work and demonstrate tact and discretion with all levels of staff;
develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, managers, trade unions and customers, maintaining a professional attitude at all times; comply with all aspects of the Council’s Health and Safety Policy and Diversity & Equalities Policy and related arrangements;
undertake comparable duties as are reasonably required, within the responsibilities of the post and which the line manager may require from time to time.
