Head of M4

First Light Fusion is a world-class fusion development company based near Oxford currently embarking on the design and construction of a large-scale prototype (called M4 Machine). This will be a ground-breaking scientific and engineering project and represent a major step towards the establishment of fusion as a clean energy source.

**Responsibilities will include**:
We are looking for a M4 Project Execution Lead whose responsibilities will include:

- Project Management of the M4 project (multi £100s million pounds of CAPEX) and ensure timely delivery to time, cost, and quality.
- Leading all activities associated with land acquisition, planning consent, design of the facility housing the machine (the design of the machine itself will be carried out by a specialist team), construction, test, and commissioning.
- Managing the interfaces between the development of the scientific equipment and M4 machine with the rest of the facility
- Management of key stakeholders associated with the project.

**Essential**:

- Have significant experience in the execution of major projects with complex requirements from concept to planning consent, procurement, construction and start of operation.
- Have demonstrable experience in the management of multi-disciplinary design and construction activities in a high requirement environment.
- Have a strong sense of how to organise and run large projects coupled with the flexibility of working in a field with parallel R&D elements.
- Have a strong grasp of managing Quality, Health and Safety, Security and Environment requirements.
- Be a team player, ready to adapt to the needs of the project and a good communicator.
