Esther Ward is currently recruiting for Senior Nursing Assistants on a 24 bedded Multi-speciality ward comprising of bays and side rooms. Esther ward is an excellent place to develop your Surgical, Thoracic, Sickle Cell, Haematology and Medical Oncology skills. The ward admits and looks after patients having elective surgery under Head & Neck, ENT and Thoracic as well as emergency admissions from clinic and A&E across Oncology and Haematology.

Esther ward encompass the Trusts objectives and standards of care and staff are very passionate at maintaining these standards and are always looking at ways to better patient experience. The ward has excellent patient feedback and the staff are very proud of the care that is delivered.

We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and compassionate senior nursing assistants who are willing to learn new skills, reflect on feedback and be part of our excellent team. This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking for development opportunities.

To work supervised under qualified staff and to provide support in the delivery of quality care for patients.

To provide a full range of support functions in a ward/department.

This will include undertaking personal care duties for patients, clerical duties and reporting patient conditions to qualified staff.

Ensuring the safety and well being of services users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centered care principles.

We are looking to employ a hardworking, self-motivated individual, preferably with extended skills and knowledge such as ECG, venipuncture and cannulation, basic wound care, and the ability to complete the admission assessments/ documentation.

This role will allow you to develop and gain a wide range of additional clinical skills which will enhance your own personal development whilst contributing to the high standard of care expected on this ward.

You will need to be willing to undertake further training to be able to assist with tracheostomy care and drain management/ removal
