**Learning Support Assistant September 2023**

Protocol Education are working in partnership with a co-educational Secondary School based in Islington who are seeking to appoint Learning Support Assistant. **Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff
- Adapt instructional materials and techniques to meet the unique learning styles and abilities of students.
- Assist in the implementation of behaviour management strategies and provide emotional support to students when needed.
- Facilitate small group activities and interventions to reinforce learning concepts.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters independence, self-confidence, and academic growth.
- Collaborate with the school's inclusion team to ensure the inclusion of students with special educational needs in mainstream classes.
- Support students during exams and assessments, including providing accommodations and modifications as required.
- Contribute to the overall well-being and safeguarding of students.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant experience working with secondary school students, particularly those with special educational needs.
- A genuine passion for supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents/guardians.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic school environment.
- A patient and empathetic nature with a commitment to creating a nurturing learning environment.
- Knowledge of relevant learning support strategies and interventions.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
- An understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting student well-being.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
