_We are currently looking for a Graduate Building Surveyor to join our busy team in Shrewsbury._

**Hours of Work**:37.5 hours per week

The Building Surveying Graduate opportunity will involve working in our busy Shrewsbury office, gaining experience in a wide range of building surveying projects and instructions. You will work alongside a Senior Building Surveyor who will mentor you inyour day-to-day work and to support you to become Chartered.

You could be involved in anything from surveying an office prior to an acquisition, project managing the construction of a new distribution warehouse or the external redecoration of a multi million pound listed building - the work undertaken by the ShrewsburyOffice is as varied as it is interesting.

The Shrewsbury office is going through substantial growth so you will be joining at a very exciting time and could help forge the future of the office, the work we do and the clients we work with.

Berrys operates in a very agile and entrepreneurial manner so good ideas are listened to whether you are a graduate, a Partner, have been with the company 5 months or 5 years.

We don’t believe graduates should simply be office based and held one step back from the work. We believe the best way to learn is by seeing and doing and as such you will be involved in all aspects of the work from a survey all the way through to issuingreports.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an individual who has recently completed an RICS accredited degree or postgraduate study.Responsibilities will include:

- Assisting surveyors with completion of jobs including site visits, project meetings, defect diagnosis, report writing among many other things.
- Working effectively with the team, helping with various business development tasks.
- Attending internal and client meetings.
- Liaising with clients, contractors and colleagues from across the country.

**Graduate Building Surveyor Requirements**:

- A practical understanding of property, land and business.
- Ability and confidence in dealing with clients in a professional manner.
- IT capability.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Own transport.
- Related work experience desired but not essential.
- An enjoyment of trying new things
