The Product Owner is responsible for representing the internal customers and stakeholders to the development team, prioritizing product backlog, ensuring that market value and customer needs are fully represented and understood during development.
We require a proactive, self-motivated individual that can review processes and procedures across the business and work alongside the tech team to help us build or implement outstanding products.
Experience of the Azure DevOps platform and/or Jira is preferrable but not essential, any experience working with Azure and.Net based DevOps teams is advantageous.
Any involvement with Salesforce implementation, tools or integration would be highly desirable.
**About the Role**
Our focus is to use lean principles and innovation to drive the business forward, we have grown exponentially in the last couple of years and technology will be the vehicle to aid that growth in a robust and scalable way. The Product Owner will be pivotal to our success as a technology function.
You will be working alongside a small but experienced cross functional team of in house and remote developers, testers, salesforce admins and infrastructure specialists. Your main focus will be to review processes across the business to aid with the design and implementation of software-based solutions, both third party and in-house built.
This is an office based role, based at our head office in South Yorkshire, easily commutable from Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster being just off the M1 motorway.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Backlog Management**:
Create, refine, and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring a steady flow of work for the development team.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, understand, and clarify product requirements.
Break down complex projects into manageable pieces and prioritize them based on value.
**Stakeholder Communication**:
- Act as the main point of contact between the development team and stakeholders.
- Gather feedback from end-users to continuously refine the product vision.
- Update stakeholders on development progress and product releases.
**Team Collaboration**:
- Collaborate closely with the development team, attending daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, sprint plannings, and retrospectives.
- Provide clarity on backlog items when required and make swift decisions when there are questions during the sprint.
- Provide feedback to the development team, recognizing their efforts and addressing any issues.
**Release Management**:
- Work with the Scrum Master and development team to ensure timely releases.
- Ensure that each product increment delivers value and is in line with the product vision and goals.
- Coordinate product or new feature launches
**Continuous Improvement**:
- Gather feedback from end-users, stakeholders, and the development team to continuously refine and improve processes.
- Stay updated with market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products to ensure the product remains competitive.
**Product Vision**:
Clearly define and communicate the product vision and ensure it aligns with the company’s strategic objectives.
Break down the product vision into smaller, incremental goals and ensure they are understood by the development team.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role in a software development setting.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, tools, and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
**Ideal but not Essential Requirements**:
- Traditional Project Management experience
- Experience implementing agile processes and procedures from the ground up
- Previous relevant experience with Salesforce building new processes or tools
