The Facilities Department have a Band 2 vacancy for a Porter/Driver to join the Facilities team.
The Post holder will be required to carry out Portering and driving duties as set out in the attached job description.
You will work closely with other members of the logistics team to meet variations in the departments need.
Base
- the post holder will be based at Argyle House Nuneaton
Post
- 22.5 hours per week Monday
- Friday 08:30-16:30 (30 min break)
Uniform will be provided.
- To ensure all journeys are planned with thought to passengers, and deliveries are carried out in a timely manner.
- To satisfy delivery schedules balancing between impromptu needs and planned scheduled efficiency, including collections from various sites/homes.
- To assist in picking, packing and receipt of goods for others and process delivery notes as appropriate.
- To check vehicle loads and equipment, utilising multi drop loads to minimize runs.
- To assist in office moves and waste and pharmacy collections as necessary.
- To distribute meals/foodstuffs as required.
- To report any vehicle defects and incidents to the Logistics Manager.
- To safely operate all machinery and equipment as necessary.
- To operate within ward/building/homes to ensure there is mínimal disruption to its routine.

To drive vehicles for the Partnership Trust, carrying passengers, patients, medical reports, parcels and post, in accordance with all Highway Code rules and regulations. To carry out general portering duties, deliveries, moving equipment and picking and packing parcels and post.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST

Communication
- To interface with ward/building staff and report problems to Logistics Manager.
- To be friendly, courteous and helpful to patients, carers and staff, challenging discrimination, promoting equality and respecting human rights.
- To interface with other disciplines entering ward/building/home.
- To deal with delivery and collection staff
- To deal with garages arranging repairs, etc.
- To ensure that patients, their relatives and carers are treated with dignity and respect.
Analytical and Judgemental Skills/ Freedom to Act
- To work within trust Policies & Procedures.
- To ensure safe working methods are adhered to at all times and in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
- To maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- To ensure vehicle is roadworthy prior to commencing journey by carrying out daily checks.
- Staff will work under own initiative but within laid down practices and policies, however they must be flexible to work within routine of allocated area of work.
- Professional supervision is mínimal but instructions on routines of work in own area is proved by Logistics Manager
