**Samples Collector Specification**
**Pattern of Work**
Part-time, self-employed role. Irregular work depending on the projects and the surveyor’s home postcode. The current average sampling pattern is 1 to 2 days per month but may increase (sometimes at relatively short notice).
**Essential Requirements**
Must have very good knowledge of English
Own transport (car) and happy to drive (sometimes extended) distances to collect samples.
Laptop or equivalent electronic device for data collection/logging -must be competent using Word and Excel
A device to take high resolution digital photographs(.jpg) and able to send/upload photos
Good internet connection and data speed
Use of a printer
Space to store packaging (thermal boxes and icepacks)
Good sized freezer[in order to freeze icepacks]; sometimes fridge space may be needed to store perishable items overnight
**Essential personal attributes**
Highly organised
Very reliable, trustworthy and consistent
Self-motivated
Able and happy to work individually and to precise specifications
Working in an ethical manner
Highly IT Literate and happy to learn the use of a straightforward data collection system
Must be physically fit to handle boxes of approx 4-12kg weight
**Terms and Conditions**
Hourly rate £12.50
Mileage reimbursed at £0.40 per mile
Expenses (parking, etc.) are reimbursed
Training via webinar and instruction documents
Any equipment required will be delivered to the collector
Please note that we will ask for two references if you are shortlisted, at least one of which must be work related.

**Salary**: £12.50 per hour
