We have an opportunity for a Product Technologist to join our team in Sherborne.

**Overall function and description of the job**:
To provide comprehensive technical support, ensuring seamless operations and driving innovation to achieve business objectives. You will create and/or assist in technical projects, foster a collaborative team culture, and assist in the optimising of company resources. The role also involves developing new and existing products and processes, whilst ensuring that all associated documentation is correct and updated in a timely manner.

**Main duties**:

- Provide direction and support to ensure compliance with relevant legislative specifications and standards our product range and its production requires.
- Coordinate the regular testing of products to address faults and provide evaluations to improve them.
- Develop and update technological processes for production.
- Prepare and maintain up-to-date technical documentation
- Provide technical support to the production, sales, and technical teams.
- Monitor the organisation of production processes to ensure adherence to production parameters and specification.
- Develop improvement plans for products and processes, and analyse data on products, equipment, and materials in production.
- Conduct research and development work in laboratories and production facilities.
- Analyse samples received from customers and address technological issues.
- Solve technical problems, study reasons for complaints, and develop corrective measures.
- Propose measures for reducing production costs and increasing productivity.
- Collaborate with other members of the company to support developments.
- Stay updated on technical developments in relevant fields.
- Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Utilize company manufacturing systems to set up and maintain written and electronic records.

**Position requirements**:

- Educated to degree level or appropriate/relevant experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the company’s Quality Assurance systems, guidelines, and procedures
- Ability to direct and manage others where required.
- A strong sense of creativity aids in the process of thinking of new product ideas and solving problems creatively.
- Great problem-solving skills
- Ability to pay attention to details.
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of proposing & implementing new ideas regarding simplification and improvement to business processes
- A good understanding of IT systems and excellent Excel skills

**Hours of work -37.5 per week **(Flexitime hours are from 6am to 8pm, core hours are Monday to Friday 10am - 3pm and Friday 10am to 12.30pm)
