Supervise the day to day running of the Sterile Services department.
You will be working hours between 6am and 10pm on a rota basis. and working one weekend in Five with two days off in the week. You will be expected to cover the service with an on-call service when closed.
The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.
To supervise the Assistant Technical Officers within Decontamination Services on a day to day basis, ensuring the high quality, safe and timely provision of a specialised decontamination service contributing to the clinical care of the patient.
- To liaise with Departmental Managers and Team Leaders on a daily basis.
- To follow Standard Operating Procedures.
- Report all equipment faults.
- To organise instrument repairs.
- Complete staff daily rotas.
- To fulfil the day-to-day functions of the departments Quality System

- Communicate with wards and departments courteously and efficiently.
- Take responsibility for the organisation of ones own day-to-day work tasks and activities and prioritise when necessary
- Take responsibility for and ensure that daily equipment tests are performed and logged where required
- Responsible for staff daily rotas.
- Responsible for the day to day running of the department
- Report all equipment breakdowns
- Provide a daily handover to Team Leaders.
- Responsibility for continuing to comply with the Quality System that is in place.
- Help support the training of staff
- Complete return to works and staff appraisals when required.
