**Description**

Opta Analyst - Football Data Journalist

Opta Analyst is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic football data journalist to join our growing editorial content team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work under tight deadlines to producing regular, written data-led content on the website while simultaneously acting as an editing resource for other members of the staff.
- Assist the regular output of content via the Opta Analyst social media accounts on various platforms.
- Work with our team of freelancers to assist with data analysis and key angles of discussion for written editorial.
- Contribute towards our audio and video content across the website and social media platforms.
- Appear on internal and external multimedia productions (podcasts, videos, interviews), being comfortable on camera and in live situations, articulating points and creating engaging conversations with internal and external staff.
- In addition to content creation, be prepared to have a strategic voice in the editorial decision-making process for Opta Analyst.

Essential Requirements:

- A comprehensive expertise of European football.
- Ability to produce data-focused editorial content to a high standard.
- Understanding of how raw data can be turned into compelling insight and sharable content.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English with knowledge of AP style.
- Willingness to work around the football schedule, which features weekend and night work, and flexible hours around major tournaments.
- The ability to work as part of a small team across time zones and multitask when needed.
- Creative thinking skills.

Desirable, Though Not Requirements:

- Knowledge of various social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube).
- Previous experience of creating audio and video content, utilising Adobe Premiere Pro/Audition, or similar production tools.
- Previous experience of live streaming software and show production, from concept to delivery of product.
- Passable multisport knowledge (American football, basketball, rugby, cricket, tennis, golf)
- Existing knowledge of Opta tools (Query Tool, Pressbox Live, Pressbox Graphics).
- Previous experience with Wordpress.
- Previous experience with SEO tools.
- Ability to speak or translate multi-language.
- Based in the London area to suit a hybrid office-home work environment.
