**A quick look at the role.**

This position is a working supervisory role, which would involve working in all aspects of the facility at Taunton, across all areas, these include the MRF/TS, the Collections Depot, Specialist Services (Wet Waste), HWRC areas and Compost. To support alloperational and organisational areas To support the Manager efficiently and effectively in day-to-day operations of the Site, and to ensure health and safety and environmental compliance, whilst delivering and maintaining first class site standards and todetermine site controls, including organisational and Housekeeping.

1.General Site Housekeeping

2. Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and all operations within the of the site comply with the site licence / EA permit

3. Contribute toward on-going cost control, actively seeking to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, increasing margin and meeting budget targets set

4. Ensure all aspects of Health & Safety are adhered to, including H&S induction and training, operating procedures, near miss reporting and emergency procedures

5. Assist to ensure monthly TBT's and serious Incidents are delivered to staff in a timely manner

6. Fire alarm Testing and co-ordination of periodic Fire drills

7. Organisation of Waste bin and equipment storage areas

8. Monitor Stock levels re vehicle and Plant supplies

9. Complete all administrative tasks associated with role, including daily site checks, and weekly stock Compliance checks

10. Supporting site management to ensure the site has adequate cover of staff during operational hours including overtime and holiday rotas

11. Maintain a good working relationship with internal and external customers

12. Deputise for the Supervisors/Foremen and carry out other reasonable tasks as the Company may require from time to time

13. Contractor control and visitor inductions, issue of Work Permits

14. Assist and Maintain GIMS (Group Integrated Management System (H&S)

15. Provide leadership, give work instructions and monitor the correct adoption of site rules and adherence to Traffic Management plans and EA permit

16. Support site management to manage, motivate, train and develop team as required

**Requirements**:
**Here's what we require**:

- Minimum GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English
- IOSH or similar health and safety qualification (Or be prepared to train or be working towards)
- Waste management industry experience
- People and health & safety management experience
- Knowledge of existing and impending environmental and health and safety legislation
- Interpersonal skills /assertiveness
- Operate mobile plant/truck Shunting
- IT literate - comfortable using business software and systems
- Ability to influence and persuade people
- Ability to deal with conflict and negotiate / manage the appropriate outcome
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Full driving licence
