We are seeking Newly Qualified, Experienced and Return to Practice Social Workers to work within our Adult Services and Wellbeing directorate. We have a number of exciting social work roles across our directorate including Post Discharge Assessment Team, Gateway to Care, Personalised Long Term Support, All Age Disability Service and Older Peoples locality teams.

In Calderdale we recognise that people are the experts in their own lives and as a result we require Social Workers to challenge the circumstances and environments that marginalise, exclude or oppress. We want Social Workers who respect the dignity and diversity of the people we are here for. Our service is responsible for making sure people within our communities live as independently as possible for as long as possible. We take a proportionate approach and involve ourselves in people's lives in the least intrusive way possible and always in their best interests.

If this is something that excites you, and you are passionate about Human Rights, Mental Capacity and Strengths Based Working, then we would love to hear from you.

Social Workers play an integral role in delivering our statutory responsibilities under The Care Act 2014 and our directorate vision for individuals to live their largest life possible, recognising their individual aspirations, building on their strengths, their social networks and to feel connected to their communities.

**Our ambition is to**:

- Provide people with appropriate information, advice and support.
- Enable people to remain as independent as possible, with some short-term support if necessary.
- Incorporate people’s strengths and abilities when considering any help and support that may be needed.
- Deliver support in a way that enables people to live the life that they want while keeping safe.
- Review care and support regularly to make sure it remains appropriate.
- Treat people with dignity and respect and work with other organisations to get the best care and support possible.

**This is on top of our standard offer to all social workers -**
- Knowledgeable and supportive colleagues.
- Regular supervision from your line manager, as well as quarterly Shared Conversations (appraisal).
- Reflective team sessions.
- Multiple training and development opportunities to support you in your development, including a career progression pathway.
- Flexible working getting the best of both office and home working.
- Generous and progressive annual leave entitlement.
- Lease car scheme and other support with travel costs.

The wellbeing of our staff is of upmost importance to us. We recognise that a resilient team need a good work/life balance and supportive leadership. This is something we are mindful of and are dedicated to.

For an informal discussion about our Social Work roles you are welcome to contact Tristam Carson 07709851743

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
