**About Infrastructure & Project Finance (“IPF”)**

IPF’s focus is to arrange senior debt, typically on a non-recourse basis, for UK infrastructure and energy (mainly renewables) projects & we also lend RCFs to listed renewable / infrastructure funds, which are often structurally subordinated.

**About Sustainable Product Group (“SPG”)**
SPG is a Corporate Banking Product & Coverage team focussed on the development and execution of green and sustainable banking products and solutions, and coverage of sustainable clients.

**Overall purpose of role**
- Contribute to Lending and Portfolio Management target income, capital return and ESG lending objectives
- Accountable for the origination, negotiation, documentation and execution of new senior debt transactions in infrastructure and energy (mainly renewables)
- Oversee / lead the deal teams on each transaction (likely that there will be multiple deals on at the same time at various different stages).
- Support cross-selling of the Bank’s wider capabilities and help entrench strong and positive client relationships whilst growing income and returns
- Support efficient collaboration with relevant other internal teams: Credit Analysis, Risk Solutions Group (“RSG”), Transaction Management, Legal, Syndicate, Coverage, Risk, Portfolio, Sustainable Finance
- Act as an ambassador for Barclays in the external KBI / advisory market
- Structure new business efficiently, seeking to maximise returns across every transaction
- Demonstrate first line of defence responsibilities to minimise impairment
- Maintain strong, collaborative engagement with Risk, providing appropriate challenge where necessary
- Meet all Governance, Risk Management, Controls and Compliance issues
- Performance manage more junior members of the team (AVPs & VPs) where applicable
- Act as a reference point for Project Finance transactions for Coverage and IB colleagues
- Assist / Drive strategic agenda (e.g. growth sectors / technologies etc)
- Support the wider agenda - we all have a role to play across diversity and inclusion, shared growth and culture

**Key Accountabilities**

**Deal Management (40-50%)**
- Drive and Support the proactive origination of deal opportunities from our internal & external client bases
- Responsible for negotiating and executing deals. Deals will typically involve a competitive tender process for the financing mandate
- Develop & lead client relationships to ensure Barclays is effectively positioned as the deal progresses
- Lead communications and negotiate with clients, advisers and, where relevant, club banks to identify project-specific risks and ways of mitigating these
- Analyse credit risks leading to preparation of detailed credit proposals alongside Risk Analysis, review and be accountable for credit and pricing submissions.
- Take responsibility for maintaining the risk/reward balance of deals written and achieve appropriate returns on capital deployed, in accordance with the Bank’s strategy. Liaise with Portfolio Management and Syndicate, present at LCC where appropriate
- Liaise with RSG to manage interest/inflation risk through the structuring of swaps
- Where appropriate/required, assist with sell-downs post-Financial Close
- Develop a high market-facing profile to generate new debt and associated business to Barclays

**Relationship Management (25%-30%)**
- Manage customer relationships at FD level. Develop a detailed understanding of clients’ strategic objectives
- Manage senior internal stakeholders

**Business & Team Management (25%-30%)**
- Assist with setting and driving the PF team strategic agenda.
