Brook Street are recruiting on behalf of our Public Sector Client for an experienced Senior HR Adviser to work in Welllingborough

Hours - 09:00 - 17:00 - Monday to Friday - 37 hours per week (flexible)

**Salary**: £31,356 - £34,335 (dependant on experience)

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Provide quality advice and guidance to line managers, staff and officers across the organisation in relation to a wide variety of HR matters, ensuring all advice adheres to employment law, police regulations, police staff handbook and internal policy and procedures.
2. Provide effective HR support by looking into problems raised and offering pragmatic advice and solutions that meet the business needs.
3. Support the development of managerial capability to handle difficult, complex and sensitive people issues, rather than handling situations for them. Coach line managers in a wide variety of HR matters and help them to understand the implications of their behaviours/decisions on staff and on the organisation. Support formal training sessions to build line managers knowledge of HR policies, procedures and best practice.
4. Provide support to the HR Team in relation to change management taking into consideration issues such as redundancy, restructuring, redeployment, equal opportunities and TUPE.
5. Provide advice and guidance to line managers on recruitment and selection activities, job design and reviewing salary levels.
6. To undertake appropriate and timely liaison as required with Unison, the Federation and other Staff Associations and Support Networks. Develop sound working relationships.
7. Undertake work streams relating to H1, A20, medical retirements, misconduct, UAP/UPP processes and injury awards.
8. Ensure effective communications are in place to keep the business updated on appropriate HR matters, policies and procedures.
9. Support the development and timely implementation of efficient and effective HR solutions for people issues. Complete research projects and provide recommendations and written reports for approval by senior managers.
10. Support the Senior HR Advisor and Policy Advisor with maintenance and updates to HR Policies and Procedures as required.
11. Liaise with MFSS teams to maintain integrity of data held on HR Systems.
12. Other related activities as defined by line and departmental management.

**ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**:
1. Associate member of CIPD or demonstrate equivalent experience within a HR department.
2. Good overall knowledge of employment law and HR practices from techniques used in recruitment and selection to knowledge of performance and attendance management procedures. With the ability to build a sound knowledge of police regulations and police staff council terms and conditions.
3. Experience of providing accurate, detailed advice and guidance to managers and individuals at different levels within an organisation in a highly pressurised, fast moving operational environment.
4. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of personal resilience, confidentiality and sensitivity in dealing with all issues.
5. Sound analytical and problem solving skills along with the ability to make timely and balanced decisions, even under pressure, using relevant information effectively to offer practical ideas and innovative solutions.
6. Experience of research and analysing information and preparing written reports.
7. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels, influencing others positively, whilst maintaining good working relationships with a diverse range of people.
8. Experience of working as a part of a team and can demonstrate the ability to build effective working relationships within this team as well as with members of other teams.
